Radio operators, here is my plan; The check station captains will have programmed GMRS HT’s for communication. Resqman (Jay) has six for distribution to the station captains and I have a couple more. These radios are already programmed and ready to play. We are going to have a training session of the station captains about use and protocols of radio use, and we will distribute radios for their use and sign them up for their GMRS licenses. I hope all assisting ham operators can attend the meeting. Apparently, signing up for a GMRS license is a quick online process and it will cover everyone in the family of a person who signs up. I want to continue to provide ham radio back-up for the mountain stations in case the GMRS is insufficient, and I will need all the help I can get. If you can help, please let me know. MJ, I think your concept of operating on the mountain would be great, and Robin, I hope you can assist at start-finish again. Thanks to everyone, I think this will be great!
